Decks designed for Cramlington's newer homes

Estates built from the 1970s to today, with regular plots, patio doors and fences on every side. A designed deck makes a standard garden your own.

Homes and gardens in Cramlington

Most Cramlington gardens are a sensible size with a patio or slabs by the house, a lawn, and close boarded fences. Newer homes often have heavy clay under a thin layer of topsoil.

With neighbours close by, privacy and shade are usually part of the brief.

What we design

Decks that suit Cramlington

A deck replacing builders' slabs

Level with the patio doors and sized for a table.

A screened corner deck

Slatted screens for privacy, with planting to soften them.

A pergola deck

A covered corner for shade and evening lights.

Before we draw

Levels, access and the ground

Clay ground

We use proper footings and keep the frame clear of wet ground.

Sloping new-build gardens

Many fall towards the back fence; the deck frame takes out the slope.

Often on the brief in Cramlington

  • Privacy from neighbours
  • A step-free link to the patio doors
  • Shade on south-facing plots
  • Low upkeep

Questions

Before you ask

Can you build over our existing slabs?

Sometimes. We'll check they're sound and level enough, otherwise we lift them first.

Can a deck include a privacy screen?

Yes. We design screens to suit the deck and keep them within sensible heights for boundaries.
