Survey and design
A measured design visit, levels taken, and a concept drawing you can change until it's right.
What you're paying for
We aren't the cheapest. We do things properly and build decks to last, and this is what you get.
In every build
A measured design visit, levels taken, and a concept drawing you can change until it's right.
Clearing, levelling and proper footings, sized for the ground in your garden, not a standard guess.
Treated timber joists, sized for their span and built level, with the slight fall that lets rain run away.
Joists set to the board maker's figures, closer still for diagonal boards, so the deck stays flat and firm underfoot.
The right clips and stainless screws for your boards, with hidden fixings wherever the design allows.
A weed membrane below, air moving under the frame, and existing drains kept working.
Picture-frame borders and fascia boards that close in the edges cleanly, so no cut ends show.
Steps, balustrades, lighting and trims finished to the same standard as the deck itself.
We take our waste away and leave the garden as we found it, apart from the deck.
Care notes for your boards, the manufacturer's warranty for composite, and our workmanship guarantee in writing.
Why it matters
Once the boards are down, nobody sees the footings, the joists or the fixings. They're also what decide whether a deck feels solid in ten years or starts to bounce, lift and stain in two.
That's where we refuse to cut corners. Your price is set for the design you agree, after the design visit, and covers everything above.
We'll measure, listen, and draw your deck. Your price follows, for exactly the design you agree.
Questions
After the design visit, from the design you agree: its size, levels, materials and details. It's fixed for that design.
Both can be beautiful. Timber is natural and classic; composite asks for very little looking after. We'll recommend what suits your garden and how you'll use it.
